This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, request contact, use our chat, or subscribe to our informational emails.

Our website provides information about hardware product development and our working methods for businesses, product leaders, and inventors throughout the United States. It does not sell products, process payments, provide binding quotations, or allow you to enter into a development services contract online. Any services require a separate agreement.

Who is responsible for your information

Information you provide

Contact details: your first and last name, telephone number, and email address. You may also provide an optional project reference name. Use a neutral reference that does not disclose the nature or technical features of your invention.

Communications: the content of messages and chat conversations you choose to send, your communication preferences, and records of our responses. We also keep records of subscriptions, permissions, withdrawals, and privacy requests where needed to manage your choices.

Please do not submit technical documents, drawings, unpublished inventions, trade secrets, patent-sensitive information, financial account details, health information, or other sensitive personal information through our website or chat. We do not request these materials for an initial contact. Confidential project discussions are handled separately under an appropriate agreement.

Information collected when you visit

Our website and service providers may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, approximate location inferred from IP address, referring pages, visit times, pages viewed, interactions, cookie identifiers, and advertising click identifiers. These records help operate and secure the website, understand its use, and measure advertising. An IP address or cookie identifier may be personal information even if it does not include your name.

We collect this information directly from your device and through cookies, tags, and similar technologies. Google may also provide campaign and conversion reports relating to interactions with our advertisements. The Cookie Policy explains the available categories and controls.

How we use information

We use information to respond to your requested contact, explain our methods, arrange an initial conversation, provide the chat service, and maintain our correspondence. We also use it to operate and protect the website, diagnose problems, prevent misuse, assess website and campaign performance, respect privacy choices, and comply with legal obligations.

If you separately subscribe, we use your email address to send information about hardware product development, prototyping, our methods, and related services. We do not require an email subscription as a condition of responding to your inquiry.

Providers and advertising

Providers supporting the website

We do not sell our contact lists or provide your inquiry details to other businesses for their independent direct marketing. We disclose information to providers as needed to supply hosting, communication, analytics, and advertising functions, subject to the applicable agreements and privacy choices.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides the infrastructure hosting our website, administered by our company. Nextiva provides our chat and communication platform and processes the contact information, message content, and technical or communication metadata needed to provide those functions. Text chat messages may be stored as conversation records. Nextiva’s general privacy notice describes its broader services; it does not mean every feature described there is enabled on our website.

If you choose WhatsApp, your telephone number and messages are also processed through WhatsApp under its applicable terms and privacy notice. You may request contact by email or telephone instead. Ordinary personal contact does not itself authorize unrelated automated advertising campaigns.

Google Analytics and Google Ads

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads tools to understand website activity and measure how advertising leads to interactions such as contact requests. Depending on your choices and the features enabled, Google tags may collect cookie and device identifiers, IP addresses, advertising click identifiers, and website or conversion events. Google processes information under its applicable terms and privacy disclosures.

Where advertising personalization or remarketing is enabled, these technologies may also be used to recognize previous visitors and display relevant advertisements on Google services or other participating websites. You can decline these uses through Cookie Settings and Your Privacy Choices. Rejecting personalization does not stop all advertisements; it limits the use of your website activity for personalized advertising.

Providing information to an advertising platform for advertising across websites may qualify as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under certain state privacy laws, even when no money is paid for the information. Our statement about not selling contact lists does not exclude these statutory classifications.

If enhanced conversions are enabled, Google may also receive hashed email addresses or telephone numbers collected during an interaction to match and measure conversions, subject to applicable notice and permission requirements. Hashing is a security measure; it does not make this information anonymous. Customer list uploads and other uses beyond the disclosed configuration require an updated notice where appropriate.

Other permitted disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or lawful requests, protect rights and safety, prevent fraud, or establish or defend legal claims. Information may also be disclosed in a proposed or completed corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and any notice or choices required by law.

Your choices and information management

Contact and email preferences

When you request contact and authorize the selected channels, our team may respond personally by email, telephone, SMS, or WhatsApp to discuss that request. You may change your preferences or ask us to stop by contacting hello@letsprototype.com. For SMS, reply STOP to withdraw permission for further texts; request assistance by replying HELP or emailing us. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies with your inquiry.

We do not share mobile numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Providers may process this information as needed to deliver communications on our behalf.

Informational marketing emails include a way to unsubscribe. You can also email us. We honor email marketing opt-outs within 10 business days. An opt-out does not prevent responses you subsequently request or communications required by law.

Privacy requests and state rights

You may contact hello@letsprototype.com to request access to information we hold about you, correction, deletion, or a portable copy, or to object to or limit certain uses. Depending on your state and the law’s applicability, these may also be statutory rights, including rights to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not use your information to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.

We will verify identity when reasonably necessary for access, correction, or deletion, without requesting more information than needed. An authorized agent may submit a request with appropriate proof of authority. We do not require identity verification for an ordinary browser opt-out. Exceptions may apply, including records needed for security, legal obligations, or legal claims. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We aim to respond to requests within 45 days and comply with any shorter applicable deadline. If an extension is permitted and needed, we will explain the reason and timing. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing us with the subject "Privacy Appeal." We aim to resolve appeals within 45 days, subject to applicable law, and will explain available further complaint options. You may also contact your state attorney general or the applicable privacy regulator.

Browser signals and advertising choices

Cookie Settings and Your Privacy Choices allow you to reject optional analytics and advertising technologies or change your selection. We treat a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising for the browser sending it. Preferences generally apply to that browser or device; repeat your choices on other browsers or after clearing stored preferences. Traditional Do Not Track signals do not have a separate standardized response on our website. GPC and the controls described here remain available.

Retention and security

We retain inquiry and conversation records for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage an ongoing relationship, and address legal or security requirements. We consider the purpose, sensitivity, last interaction, and any outstanding obligations. Subscription information is kept while subscribed; limited suppression and permission records may be retained to respect opt-outs and demonstrate compliance. Cookie lifetimes are described in Cookie Settings. We delete or deidentify information when it is no longer needed, subject to protected backup cycles and lawful retention requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. We operate from the United States; providers may process information in other locations under applicable agreements and safeguards.

Children and policy changes

The website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and take appropriate action. We update this Policy by posting a revised date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A policy update does not itself create permission for a materially different use.
